October 1993

House Moved

The Main House was moved from 1220 Third Avenue to 201 Seventh Street to save it and three other homes from the wrecking ball. Mamie and Garry Pound worked with Historic Columbus Foundation to relocate the four houses in the "Seventh Street Redevelopment Project."

Inn Opened

Inn opened with four rooms. Mercedes Ellington, Duke Ellington's granddaughter was our first guest. She was here to direct a musical review at the Springer Opera House.

Few Street Cottage Open

Few Street Cottage opens with four additional rooms.

Dillingham Cottage Open

Dillingham Cottage opens with four additional rooms. Making a total of 12 guest accommodations

February 2002

Added 4 New Houses

The Rothschild-Pound House adds four new houses across the street. These include the Muscogee, Springer, G.B. Willoughby, and Few Street Cottages.

Received The Sarah Turner Butler Heritage Award

Dr. and Mrs. Murphey Garrett Pound are given Historic Columbus Foundation's highest award. The Sarah Turner Butler Heritage award for "Outstanding Contribution to Preservation."
